Jesus Has Power Over Demons

Mark 5:1 – 20; Luke 8:26 – 38

Remember the good angels that live in heaven? Well, there are some very bad angels that do not live in heaven. No one bad or wicked lives in heaven. We call these bad angels “demons.”

Demons do not have bodies like ours with hands and feet. We cannot see demons and they can go into places where we cannot go. Sometimes demons torment people and make them very sad. Sometimes they even make people do bad things. Fortunately, Jesus is stronger than the most powerful demon.

When Jesus got out of the boat and walked on the shore, a man came to Him who was tormented by demons. The demons made this man very angry and mean so that he acted like a wild animal.

Not even chains around his hands and feet could hold him down. He would just break the chains and roam around in the mountains. All the people were afraid of him and stayed very far away.
